Re-Animator-Herbert West Has A Very Good Head On His Shoulders... And Another One In A Dish On His Desk

Herbert West comes from Austria after studying with a well known scientist who has just died. He begins conducting weird experiments in the basement of his roommates place. Eventually he brings his roommate and his roommates girlfriend into his experiments and reveals to them that he is working on bringing back the dead and he is most of the way there but he must start testing on human subjects or else he is stuck at a dead end. Soon Herbert is kick out of the school and his roommate must sneak him into the school to continue their experiments. But that's when things begin to go wrong.

I am disappointed in myself for not doing this movie sooner since it is in my top 5 favorite movies of all time and i personally like H.P Lovecraft's stories. I even have a book of his short stories and the way he writes isn't like most authors. It's more dark and eerier but you get the picture in your mind of what he is trying to describe pretty easily and i feel that his writing talents was transferred into the movie. The start of the movie is more humerus but when they begin re-animating the dead that's when the gore begins to start and the movie double sin its enjoyability. The acting in this was average but they made it like that for some laughs and the special effects were again some of my favorite. So i give this horror genre treasure 5 out of 5 severed heads.

2012-First, the Mayan calendar predicted it...Now, science has confirmed it...but we never imagined it could really happen.

A author stumbles into a secrete government project when he is camping with his kids which makes him worry about what is going on. He starts to understand what is going from a supposedly crazy man in the area about the governments "ships" and 2012. So he goes to get his family and starts a race for survival. But it's not only his survival he must fight for in the end its the survival of the human race.

I found this movie kind of boring. It takes a while to get into the action. The plot was alright but like everyone says about this movie they tried to make up for it with lots of special effects. The acting at times was pretty good but most of the time it was alright. So i give this movie a 3 out of 5 blood stains.

Leviathan-It will leave you gasping for air

Several deep-sea miners find a sunken soviet ship which was supposedly sunk in another ocean. so they send men aboard to find out more information. Two of them come back with a safe containing old liquor a captains log on video several death certificates and a flask. But soon some of them begin to get sick and die. But they don't stay dead. Now the crew begins to change on a genetic level into creatures that hunt down the rest of the crew. Now they must fight for survival while trying to figure out what caused this and why their company lied to them about evacuation.

This movie in my opinion was alright. The acting was average and the special effects weren't anything special. But what really grinded my gears was that the plot was almost a rip of off the thing. Their bodies begin changing into weird creatures with mouths and other weird things sprouting up in different places on their bodies and them not knowing at times who is infected. So i give this rip off 2 out of 5 blood stains.

Diary of the Dead-Where will you be when the end begins?

A group of film students are filming a horror movie in the woods when they hear on the radio and news that the dead are coming back to life. Some don't believe this at first but they are all a little scared so they decide to go home to their families. But on the way the discover that everything they heard is true. Although they are all scared and worried about their families they decide to make a documentary about whats happening so that some people can use it to survive and so others will know what happened. But they must survive if they want their work to have meaning. But the question is can they hold together to survive or will the stress cause them to come to their end?

I found this movie alright. The special effects were alright. But to be honest i expect a lot more from one of the greatest directors of all time. But i found that what really brought this movie down was the quality of the acting. Half the time it was hard to believe they really felt fear. Also the storyline is pretty cheesy. Instead of trying to survive all this 20 year old guy wants to do is make a documentary. So i give this movie 4 out of 5 bloodstains (only because there is a real bad ass Amish farmer in it for a bit).

The Crazies(2010)- Fear Thy Neighbor

Check SpellingWhen a large military plane carry a deadly bio weapon crashes into a small farming towns drinking supply it begins to turn all the residents into insane murders. but luckily the army comes in time to stop it and save people. Or are they their just to get ride of all evidence and witnesses. Now its up to the sheriff his pregnant wife and two other townsfolk to survive and get to the next town. If they aren't infected themselves.
Sadly i have not seen the original so i can't compare how good this is to that but i will talk about what i liked disliked about this one. I found that some of the ways that the people were killing/getting killed by were to elaborate. In real life people would just go with guns or knives. Also the way that they kill some of the people with doesn't seem like it would be possible for people who are supposedly turned insane. But i did like the storyline it seems realistic. I also enjoyed the acting very much. They are very believable and for once they don't have the ordinary person who when the situation turns desperate becomes the basically greatest fighter ever. That role is for the sheriff who has always been like that since he has experience with upholding the law. so i give this movie 3.5 out of 5 blood stains.

Return of the Living Dead-They're Back From The Grave and Ready To Party!

some friends decide to go have some fun and party in a graveyard while they leave their friend to work at his job with his supervisor accros the street. But while they are partying the two employees accidently release a deadly toxin that reanimates a dead corpse inside the warhouse. luckly they hold down long enough to bring it to the morgue to burn it since they can't kill it. But when the smoke makes rain in the graveyard they will have to deal with hundreds of zombies who want one thing- TO EAT YOUR BRAINS!

I enjoyed this movie and its sequel the best out of teh whole return of the living dead series. For some simple reasons 1) after to many sequels the movies begin losing their magic 2) Dan O'Bannon and Brian Yuzna are pretty good directors( althoug i like dan better then brian). and finaly 3) this used some pretty good humor. So i give this movie 3.5 out of 5 blood stains.

Shaun of the Dead-In a time of crisis a hero must rise...from his sofa.

Shaun was having a bad day. He is being pushed around at work, by his roommate and his girl friend dumped him because he spends his nights at a bar. So he decides to change his life starting by getting his girlfriend back the next day. The bad thing about his timing is that it's right when the zombie apocalypse starts. So with cricket bat in hand and best friend by his side he goes to prove to everyone that he can take control and be save the people he cares about while he gets his girlfriend back.

I found this movie a nice change of pace. Don't get me wrong i love the gore and action filled zombie movies but seriously how many comedy zombie apocalypse movies are as funny as this- no better yet how many comedy zombie apocalypse movies are out there? Even though this was meant to be a romantic comedy it still has lots of gore and violence to satisfy any zombie lover. The acting in this wasn't half bad either. You can feel like that's what they are actually going through if people could keep their heads as cool as they do during a zombie apocalypse since they have time to make fun of each other. Overall i give this movie 4 out of 5 blood stains.

The Omen( 2006)- From the eternal sea he rises. Creating armies on either shore. Turning man against his brother. Until man exists no more.

After a priest at the Vatican sees a comet they believe it is a sing for Armageddon. At the same time Robert Thorn is told that his wife child will die in child birth and she can't have children anymore so he is told to just switch it with the baby of a mother who has died during child birth. when their nanny kills herself apparently for Damien they get a knew one who troubles the couple. Over time Roberts wife realizes he is evil and Damien. Then a priest comes to Robert telling him his son is the Anti Christ. But will he survive to prove it?

This movie I found was not as good as the original. It plume ted in the box office and even x-men 3 beat it but don't get me started on that movie. But this proves that you can't remake movies like the Omen, it would be like someone remaking the Exorcist. During the movie the acting of any of the actors wasn't as good as in the original. Even the old movie was better because it was scary exciting and gripping. Which is like the complete opposite of this movie. So i give this movie a measly 2.5 out of 5 blood stains.

The Omen(1976)- Those who foretold it are dead. Those who can stop it are in grave danger.

Robert Thorn the ambassador to Italy and his family have everything they could ever want- except children. But when their child dies in the hospital he substitutes it for a baby of a woman who has died during child birth. After a few years of nothing interesting happening people begin to die. First the nanny then a priest who tried warning Robert about something. When they get a new nanny they realize right away that something is wrong with her with how she treats the boy. After going with photographer to find out the mystery they find out their son is the most dangerous evil out there. The Anti Christ.

This movie is an old classic. Even though it doesn't have very much special effects when they do need them they do it pretty good. I think it is good because their is no greater evil than the devil himself and this is the devils son who has come to bring the end of the world. I found the acting in this movie pretty good. But the best acting is by far that of Damien the ambassadors son. When you watch it you actually believes he is evil even though he is just a kid. Overall i give this movie 4.5 out of 5 blood stains.

Heavy Metal-Columbia Pictures takes you beyond the future into a universe you've never seen before...... A universe of mystery. A universe of magic. A

This movie is about several small animated stories that revolve around a glowing green orb that an astronaut brings home to his daughter. The orb kills the man and begins showing the girl images telling her he is the personification of ultimate evil and how he inspires death and destruction everywhere he goes. In the end can this girl overcome this evil? Or will it consume her?

I found this movie pretty funny especially how no matter what the story is about it involves some sort of sexy which makes me wonder how desperate the guys who made this movie are. The actual animation if pretty good for an 80's film. Also the plot and little stories aren't half bad. Over all i give this 4 out of 5 guitar solos.

fun Stuff # 3

28 Days Later
-For the scenes in London, poilce would close the roads at 4am and filming would begin immediately. It would last for one hour, and at that time the police would reopen the roads. As well as having to deal with traffic, the producers also had to ask clubbers to find alternative routes home. In terms of the traffic, the producers correctly predicted that asking drivers to either wait for up to an hour or find another way might cause some considerable consternation. As such, they employed several extremely attractive young women (one of whom was Danny Boyle's daughter) to make the necessary requests. This plan had the desired results, as the drivers responded quite amicably to the young girls.
-The hospital in the film is a real day hospital and is not open at weekends. The trust managers of the hospital hire out the building to filmmakers for weekends, and the productions pay the hospital directly, meaning the money from the filming goes directly to the trust fund of the hospital.
-For the scenes on the motorway, the production got permission to shoot on the MI on a Sunday morning between 7.00am and 9.00am. The police gradually slowed traffic in both directions, and using 10 cameras, the filmmakers managed to capture a total of one minute of usable footage.
-Horror novelist Stephen King bought out an entire showing of the film in New York City.
-The surnames of Jim, Selena, Mark, Frank, and Hannah are never revealed, either during the film or in the credits. Likewise, the names of Jim's parents are never revealed.
-While filming the mansion scenes, the crew's favorite place was The Wooden Spoon in Downton, Wiltshire. They liked it so much that they gave them one of the dead bodies from the execution pile. This can no longer be seen at the pub as it now has new owners.
-Athletes were cast as the Infected because of how important physicality is to them. Danny Boyle felt that generally, athletes can do things other people can't, and he thought this would be interesting when translated into the movements of the Infected.
-It cost £250,000 in total to blow up the petrol station.
28 Weeks Later
-The farm that Don and Alice hide out in the start of the film is the same farm that appears in Children of Men
-The boy who arrives at the cottage at the beginning of the film claims to be from Sandford. Sandford is the name of the 'fake' village that was used by British police to practice emergency preparedness drills. It's also the fictitious locale for the action comedy Hot Fuzz
The Blob
-All of the exteriors for the movie were shot in a small south Louisiana town called Abbeville. Abbeville is laid out almost exactly the same as Arbeville, Colorado, where the movie takes place. Abbeville was used because filming took place in late 1987 and Arbeville was covered in snow. It's just a weird coincedence that the names are so similar.
-Donovan Leitch, who plays Paul Taylor, had to have a full body cast made of himself for one of the more complicated scene where Paul underneath the blob. There were about 50 people running the unstrung Paul. However, 'Chuck Russell' did not tell Shawnee Smith it was really Donovan Leitch underneath the Blob for the first part of the scene. She believed it was going to be an unstrung person. This was so he could get more of a shock out of her. That is the take that is now seen in the movie when Meg screams out Paul's name upon discovering him.
-Shawnee Smith ("Meg Penny") was once asked whether or not the producers remembered to heat the sewer-water she plunged into while fleeing the Blob. Chuckling, she answered, "Well, they TRIED."
Arachnophobia
-The first film released under Disney's Hollywood Pictures label, which was also created so the studio could release more adult-oriented fare.
-Canaima is the name of the avenging spirit of the Guyana Indians. It's also the name the area in Venezuela where the beginning of the movie was filmed and home to the world's tallest waterfall, Angel Falls.
-The small spiders used in the film were Avondale spiders (Delena Cancerides), a harmless species from New Zealand that were provided by Landcare Research in Auckland. Despite their fierce appearance, this spider is docile member of the crab-spider family and are, in fact, harmless to humans. They were not allowed back in New Zealand for quarantine reasons. The giant "spider" used in the film was a species of a bird-eating tarantula, which attains an 8" legspan or more. Those types of tarantula are not easy to handle and can give a nasty bite.
Event Horizon
-The space suits worn by the actors weighed 65 pounds (30 kilograms) each. Laurence Fishburne nicknamed his "Doris."
-The Event Horizon was modeled on Notre Dame cathedral. Its interior is filled with cruciform shapes.
-The model of the Event Horizon includes a complete "X-Wing" from Star Wars as part of an antenna array. The model is visible on the lower portion of the Event Horizon during the first flyby by the Lewis & Clark.
-When the Lewis and Clark first docks with the Event Horizon, the number of the main airlock is briefly visible: 13
-Everyone's space suit has their country's flag. During production, Australia was considering changing its flag. Sam Neill's character is Australian, and his spacesuit's flag has the Aboriginal flag in place of the Union Jack.
-Dr. Weir shares his name with a historical figure, Johann Weyer, also known as Wier or Wierus. He was a Dutch physician, occultist, and demonologist.
-The rotational shot of the space station over earth took nearly a third of the film's budget.
-When Doctor Weir opens the blinds in his room during the opening sequence of the film, a whooshing sound effect can be heard. This sound effect is taken from the video game Doom, heard when the player opens a door.
-The script originally described the Gateway machine as a smooth and featureless black orb suspended in midair between large, rotating mechanical arms. It also was said to contain a stable black hole within it at all times (which the ship used as a power source), as opposed to briefly creating a temporary one.
The Mist
-In the opening shot of the film, David is painting in his room. The picture he's drawing is a design from Stephen King's Dark Tower series of the gunslinger Roland. Another design in the room is that of the poster of John Carpenter's The Thing (1982). John Carpenter also wrote and directed The Fog (1980), which shares obvious themes with The Mist.
-During an action scene in the film, a man runs into a wire rotating-book shelf in the grocery store. If you look carefully, you can clearly see that all the books on the shelf are written by Stephen King
-Shot in 37 days.
-Stephen King says that he was genuinely frightened by this adaption of his novel; Frank Darabont described that as the happiest moment of his career.
-Norm is wearing a T-Shirt from WKIT Radio in Bangor, Maine. This is one of three radio stations owned by Stephen King
Silence of the Lambs
-The Tobacco horn worm moths used throughout the film were given celebrity treatment by the filmmakers. They were flown first class to the set (in a special carrier), had special living quarters (rooms with controlled humidity and heat) and were dressed in carefully designed costumes (body shields bearing a painted skull and crossbones)
-Buffalo Bill is the combination of three real life serial killers: Ed Gein, who skinned his victims; Ted Bundy, who used the cast on his hand as bait to make women get into his van; and Gary Heidnick, who kept women he kidnapped in a pit in his basement. Gein was only positively linked to two murders and suspected of two others. He gathered most of his materials not through murder, but grave-robbing. In the popular imagination, however, he remains a serial killer with uncounted victims.
-A 'Bon Appetit' magazine can be seen in Hannibal Lecter's temporary cell.
-Almost all the scenes in Hannibal's original cell have either a reflection of Hannibal or Clarice, depending on the camera's point of view.
-George A. Romero played the bearded man who accompanies Chilton and the two guards who forcibly remove Clarice Starling after her final meeting with Lecter.
-After Lecter was moved from Baltimore, he was originally to be dressed in a yellow or orange jumpsuit, but Anthony Hopkins was able to convince director Jonathan Demme and costume designer Colleen Atwood that it would make the character seem more clinical and unsettling if he was dressed in pure white. Hopkins has since said that this idea came from his fear of dentists.
-The first moth cocoon found in one of the victim's throats was made from a combination of "Tootsie-Rolls" and gummy bears, so that if she swallowed it, it would be edible.
-Clarice Starling was chosen by the American Film Institution as the sixth greatest film hero (out of fifty), the highest ranked female on the list; Hannibal Lecter was chosen as the #1 greatest film villain (also out of fifty).
-When Anthony Hopkins found out that he cast as Hannibal Lecter based on his performance as Dr. Frederick Treves in The Elephant Man (1980) he questioned Jonathan Demme and said "But Dr. Treves was a good man." To which Demme replied "So is Lecter, he is a good man too. Just trapped in an insane mind."
-According to Jonathan Demme, there were 300 applicants for the role of Clarice Starling.
-According to an old news article that Starling reads on microfilm, "Judge Detox" presided over Dr. Lecter's murder trial

Silence of the Lambs-To enter the mind of a killer she must challenge the mind of a madman

When no one can find the ruthless serial killer Buffalo Bill FBI trainee Clarice Starling is sent to convince the insane mass murder Hannibal The Cannibal Lecter to help them. When she gets there she believes that she is asking the questions yet with every session Hannibal Lecter is plunging deeper and deeper into her mind giving her clues that she doesn't even realize she is receiving. In the end she is forced to face her inner demons and have a battle with a murderous madman who skins his victims and wears their flesh.

This movie is on my top favorite horror movies collection for a few reasons. Instead of using what most horror movies use like eye catching special effects and scenes of people getting murdered just to gross you out it scares you with how Hannibal Lecter is just a complete genius of the human mind from his previous profession as a psychiatrist that he makes you feel sick and scared without touching you. although this movie does have its share of gore and killings ever scene and murder plays a significant role in developing the plot. So with all that considered i give it 5 out of 5 blood stains.( by the way i don't recommend this movie for the squeamish or the easily creeped out.)

The Mist-Belief divides them, mystery surrounds Them, but fear changes everything

When the mist first began coming no one thought anything of it. So the next day Dave Drayton and his son go to the grocery store were they see several military personal running into this fast approaching mist. This begins to worry everyone until a man comes running in with blood on his face. He begins telling people that there are things in the mist. this is when all hell breaks loose. When the mist surrounds the store it begins to shakes then stop. So Dave and a couple people go into the back to start the generator but tentacle like things come out through the loading dock door and attack them. They succeed in closing the door but no one believes them. They soon come to realize that they are being attack by hundreds of creatures. The people in fear turn to the god fearing lady who they all disliked and follow her preachings about good and even sacrifice a man. But the real questions are, were did these creatures come from? and what exactly is project Arrowhead?

I really liked this movie but I guess i would since i like reading Stephen King books and watching the movies to those books. The plot and special effects are exceptional. I really enjoyed the acting especially at the end when Dave and some others are stuck and he has the ultimate choice to make but it blows up in his head seconds later. I also enjoyed how it speaks about the human nature and how most people don't care or have God in their lives until they are in danger or going to die. I give this movie 4.5 out of 5 blood stains.

Event Horizon-Infinite Space - Infinite Terror

In the year 2047 a group of astronauts in the ship the Lewis and Clark are sent to the Event horizon, a ship which disappeared seven years ago on its first trip and has mysteriously come back. When they get there they can find no trace of the crew or were the ship has been except for one clue, a fuzzy video with screams and a man speaking in Latin. the longer they spend on the ship the more they believe that there is someone or something on board with them. As they continue their mission trying to find out what happened and who is one the ship the more they come to believe that were ever the ship has been it brought something back with it. Something beyond their worst imaginations.

I found this movie alright. The special effects were pretty good considering that it was a big budget movie. The plot was alright but what really brought this movie down was that they relied on surprising you with loud sounds by before anything scary happening the volume goes really low so you can't here them then after you turn it up for a bit there is a really loud sound like someone screaming or something falling or breaking. The whole idea behind the movie was pretty cool but they didn't know how to really represent it. I think it could have been a lot better if they put more time into making ideas to make the movie more scary instead of putting all their time into special effects. I give this movie a 3.5 out of 5 blood stains and only because Morpheus is in it.

Arachnophobia- Eight legs, two fangs and an attitude.

While on a science expedition to Venezuela a researcher is killed by a massive deadly spider. When the others find his body they send it back to his home town not knowing the spider hitched a rider in the coffin. When he gets home they find his body completely drained of blood. The spider escapes unseen and makes its way to a small farm were a family is moving in and takes refuge in the barn were it mates with a small house spider. Now there are thousands small house spiders with poison capable of killing people in seconds invading this small town. Now its up to a doctor who everyone believes is causing the mysterious deaths around town, his rival doctor and a exterminator to save the town. But will they be able to save themselves?
This movie was one of the first horror movies I have ever watched. It scared me as a kid especially because the day before a spider bit me when i was under my grandmas deck. But now that I have seen some truly terrifying horror movies this movie has lost its edge. But don't get me wrong it still scares me with the thought of there being thousands of little spiders that can kill you almost instantly. This movie doesn't have very much special effects, they use real spiders and the only time they really use props or special effects is for the big spiders, the researchers blood deprived body and the fire in the doctors basement. so this movie disappointed me in that department and the acting is half bad but it's not the greatest so i give this movie 3 out of 5 blood stains(since it was one of my childhood favorites and since i still watch it at times).

The Blob- Scream now, while there's still room to breathe.

While on a date two teenagers accidentally hit an old homeless man with their car. Soon the town rebel Brian Flagg comes out of the woods chasing the old man. They suspect him for trying to hurt the old man and they take him to the hospital. But while no one is looking after the old man he is consumed by an acid like substance that was on his hand. They soon discover that the old man found the blob in a meteor and the blob begins to grow bigger and attack more people. No one in the town believes them until a large military group arrives almost immediately. But Brian doesn't trust them and soon he learns their motives and the origin of the blob. But will they be able to to stop the ever consuming blob? Or will they become its next meal?

I really enjoyed this movie. It used one of my all time favorite special effects stop-motion. I also think that the plot was better then the original. In the original its all about aliens who come to earth to just kill teenagers it seems but in this its just something that wants to eat you. you can't reason with it, you can't look it in the eye, all you can do is run. Overall i give this movie 5 out of 5 blood stains.

28 Weeks Later-Quarantine. Eradication. Sterilization. Re-Population. Re-Infection.

A small group of survivors is hiding in a house in the country when a small boy comes for help but brings the infect. In the heat of the moment one man escapes leaving his with and the boy to die. Now it has been 28 weeks since the last infect person of the first infection has died and a joined military effort from several different countries is repopulating London with survivors and clearing out all the blood and bodies. Now the man who is one of the leading people keeping the power running has finally been reunited with his kids but leaves out the fact that he let their mother die. The kids miss their mother and decide to escape to their old home to grab some belongings and get a picture of their mother. But what they find isn't what they expected. What they found was re-infection.

This movie is obviously the sequel to the first movie 28 days later and is another movie in my favorite zombie movies collection. This movie is similar the same as the first one except that there is a large military presence but even with the military they can't stop the re-infection. I liked how in this movie that it has a kind of underlying message for me like the first one that a parents love transcends even death. With all of this considered i give this movie 3.5 out of 5 blood stains( because its not as good as the first one or compared to some other zombie movies but is still all right and it lacks the humanism of the first one.)

28 Days Later-His fear began when he woke up alone. His terror began when he realised he wasn't

A man awakes alone in a hospital with no doctors and the only thing he remembers is a bike messenger clipping him and knocking him out. So he leaves the hospital to ask someone why there aren't any doctors or people in the hospital. The only problem is he can't find anyone. Not a single person in all of London, until he walks into a church and the priest and several other people try to kill him. Luckily he is saved by a beautiful woman and her friend and he finds out the horrible truth about what happens and it leads him on an adventure to find safety.

I own this movie and its sequel 28 weeks later (which i will do next) because they are part of my favorite zombie movies collection. It has some pretty great acting and an even better story line, compared to most zombie movies which just shows people trying to survive but don't have any underlying messages about human nature like this, and some great special effects. I enjoyed this movie not only for the gore and violence that I watch most zombie movies for but also because it shows how when faced with a problem or danger we change in order to survive. The two best examples of this is the main character who wakes up in the hospital and how he changes into a good fighter and warrior and the army officer who becomes crazy and develops a almost unbreakable bond with his soldiers. Over all i give this movie 4 out of 5 blood stains( only because the person who becomes the ultimate zombie slayer plot is a little over used now days)
